I wonder if we can speak of British fretless sound? Mo Foster reminds a lot the Brand X bassists on that recording. It probably reflects the fact that many of these players were using P-basses instead of a Jazz. Of course, Pino Pallidino is in a class of one.:bassist:

I don’t think so. They all sound different. Mo played a Jazz Bass mostly on his solo records I think? I hear more Jaco influences with him. Doesn’t sound like Percy Jones at all.
