There is a great article/interview with Mr Foster on Fretlessbass.com. Very much a worth while read.

His recordings are among those that first inspired me to study bass guitar.
It’s unfortunate that he wasn’t as widely known in the US as he worked a lot with British artists also not as well known over here. Like many, my introduction was through Jeff Beck.
Can’t stand Beck.
Just from watching the Rotosound reviews on YouTube, he seemed like a really cool guy, this is terrible.
Gary Taylor might've played the cut on the album, but that's Mo Foster in the clip - which is why I posted it.Great tune, but… That’s Gary Taylor on that.

I wonder if we can speak of British fretless sound? Mo Foster reminds a lot the Brand X bassists on that recording. It probably reflects the fact that many of these players were using P-basses instead of a Jazz. Of course, Pino Pallidino is in a class of one.

I don’t think so. They all sound different. Mo played a Jazz Bass mostly on his solo records I think? I hear more Jaco influences with him. Doesn’t sound like Percy Jones at all.
