R.I.P Vangelis

Very sad to learn of his passing, he's one of my favorite composers.
I particularly like his period with Jon Anderson. His almost live method of composing, with foot-triggered samples under his rows of synths was amazing to watch. I believe he was also a competent drummer.

My favorite solo Vangelis album is Heaven and Hell, and my favorite song is this one:

Vangelis actually auditioned for Yes for the Relayer lineup, but declined because he felt he functioned better as a solo artist.

That would have changed things. I like Moraz a lot but Vangelis is completely different
