Which rack mount single space compressor or compressor/limiter do you guys like and why?

Rack almost complete, which compressor to buy?

Rane DC-24. There is nothing as flexible and configurable out there, that I know of. It has two channels, each with a set of compressor/limiter/gate controls, and a crossover. You can also combine the two channels into one, and use it like a dual-band compressor.

Out of the compressors that I've used, I like the dbx 160A. It is easy to set up and works well. I have also used an Alesis 3630 and a Carvin C200.

Well, let me post a follow up question:
I have a BBE Sonic Maximizer that is in the rack but not being used until now. Should this be first in line or the last thing before the amp?
My inline series goes like this from bass to:
Korg DTR 1000 tuner because it has a mute button,
then in to a Sansamp RPM
Then in to BBE 362 Sonic Maximizer
Then in to Ampeg B2-RE amp
Then to speaker cab
I could go from the tuner to the BBE but I hooked it up some way one time and it mad a lot of noise like it was fried, I didn't think it worked at all.
It's working now but is this the way it should be?

That's the one I used when I had a rack rig. It's kinda known as "the standard."
Another vote for the 160. It offers just enough control to get most jobs done, but not enough complexity to get into any serious trouble.
what makes you think you need a compressor in your bass rig?
if you really do, and are not just getting something to fill a rack space, then +1 more for the DBX stuff; the 160 is the classic and not cheap, but the 166 is decent, especially if you score an older US-made 166A or just "166" (no "XL", that's the new cheap stuff.)
the sonic maximizer is best used wedged under the door during load in. if it's too small the alesis 3630 shoved on top should do the trick.
