Rack Mounted Bass Rig

Really? All of my older DTR Korg tuners have been reliable and transparent. I'd be curious to hook one of the pitchblacks up for testing to see what's actually going on.

I was initially skeptical, but the difference seemed clear to me. Not horrible, but audible.

FWIW I run through my tuner into my amp like so. I find the tuner out on my amp to be too convenient of an alt. instrument level output for many applications.

I wanted to do that, especially since the PitchBlack has a front-panel-mounted 'mute' footswitch input, and the LH1000 has no Mute. But I didn't like the tone difference. My GK amp has a tuner out, as does my wireless, and the non-Ultra DarkGlass pedals have a parallel-out - so I've usually got a suitable signal somewhere...

The PitchBlack is a bit of a tone suck, so if the amp has a Tuner Out I'd definitely use that rather than routing it inline.
The other thing you discover is that the PitchBlack 'Out To Amp' is on the back panel, so you have to somehow route the cable to the front, where amp input jacks typically live. Never understood this routing design decision by Korg...

Could be, I'm not familiar with that unit. My Furman PL Tuner units are flawless.

Also, my main point was that an inability to mute the amp ahead of the DI send would be a stopper for me in a rack. YMMV.

I have a pitchblack in my rack rig, and go

bass -> tuner -> Sansamp PSA 1.1-> EQ/Comp -> amp

Don't notice any signal degradation with the tuner (and I did test for that...)

I don't have any photos, but I go bass - Korg rack tuner - 400RB. Everything is in a 4 space rack, but my rack power strip is mounted in the rear top since my case has rear rails. There is a blank on top, but I think I'm going to remove it and move my tuner up there and keep an empty space since the head tends to run warm.

The lesson here, OP, is that there is a right way, but you're going to have to figure that out for yourself because no one on Talkbass agrees on anything.

Does anyone know the correct way of wiring these up inline please?

I've had a DTR-2000 tuner for a while now, and have also had a DTR-1000, and one of the older DTR tuners, and in every case I could hear a difference with the tuner in the signal chain vs in a Tuner Out jack - I prefer tuners out of my signal chain whenever it's practical to do so...

I would run the bass into the tuner, tuner into the amp, compressor in the effects loop. But, that's me.

I like the in-rack power strips, because I then only have one cord to hook up to power. But, I also prefer to keep my workin racks on the small side. So, here's where I've gotten to:

I'd start by ditching the power conditioner and compressor. And the 6 space rack case, too.

This always worked great for me. At times, there was also a Gallien-Krueger 700RB, or an Eden WT400 in there, in place of the Walter Woods amp when it was serving hand carry duty.

The top unit is a simple 6 outlet SL Waber power strip.

Still lighter than the SVT, Wireless to VT Rack to Shuttle, pedals can be routed thru effects jacks. SVT IIP is for backup, may remove.

I run from my bass to my darkglass pre, to my dbx 231s eq to the front of my amp... tuner is separate from set up my amp has a tuner input on in.

The first time you gig at a place with janky electrical wiring - and you will, believe me - you'll want that power conditioner back. A proper conditioner is NOT just a glorified power strip. Keep it.
