Radio noise recording bass on home studio

Hi Everyone,
I have noticed very faint radio noise in the background of recording my bass. I live in a 100 year old house and the wiring in some areas is old. Any suggestions in removing that? I know there are power conditioner strips to eliminate some electrical hum, but what about radio? It would be a darn shame if a Justin Beiber song would find its way on my bass track.

It's more than likely your bass. Check the shielding. A loose connection can cause it. If you going through a amp head clean the jacks. Skip the head and go DI.

Power conditioners are a waste of money even in an old house. Good gear has all the power conditioning built into itself direct from the manufacturer and a little noise is not going to get through the filtering in the power supplies.

I had an experience like that once. After a recording we did, going through the tracks we found that the Leslie for the hammond was coming through my bass pickups, a relatively new American fender jazz bass special (2013?). The pickups in my bass were microphonic, swapped in dimarzio humcancelling and no problems since.

I have no idea if thats your issue, perhaps you need to address the shielding on your bass (thats the first thing Id do)

Truth be told, I was recording with my Geddy Lee JBass . Love the tone of the pickups on it though.
