"Rain" tonight.

Well, saw the show last night and it was AWESOME! :bassist:
You guys need to check them out. Bassman looks just like Macca! He plays bass leftie, guitar right-handed, which leads me to believe he's really right-handed. Impressive.

RAIN is fantastic - probably the best Beatle tribute band in the world.

Joey Curatolo has been the bass player since sometime in the 80's, and does an amazing job, as do the rest of the guys.

He's now playing part of the show left-handed? WOW. I haven't seen these guys in years, but since I've known him he had always played right handed.

I'm sure he worked on the whole left-handed thing for years before using it in the show.

Also - another highlight of the show is "And Your Bird Can Sing" if it's still part of the set list. Joe Bithorn (George) plays both harmony parts on the guitar at once - very impressive.

Have to agree, totally! Funny thing is, I'd never heard of them prior to last week! (my bad!). Joey played the whole show left handed, except for the acoustic bits. And he positively rocked the Hofner. These guys go for authenticity, Vox amps, old cables, same manerisms, the whole 9 yards! :bassist:

Unfortunately they didn't play that number. Highlights were "Let it be", "Blackbird", and "While my guitar gently weeps". Epic. There were more than a few misty eyes in the audience. :crying:

F- it, went crazy and bought three floor tickets to Macca in Austin next month. He's not getting any younger! Will take wifey and 13 y/o girl. She's pretty excited to see the one remaining musically-active Beatle. :bassist:

I'm also thinking of seeing Rain again in Tampa later this month (April 27th). It's a great show.

Should be fun!

Ringo is musically active and was a Beatle. He still tours and puts out CDs. Now, I know folks will say Ringo is not the same as Paul (few are) but he puts on a great show and was the drummer for the most influential band in Rock history.

I have seen McCartney many times, and he does put on a great show. You are going to have a blast!

Still have not see RAIN, though they have played here a few times. Must go the next time they are in town.

I've seen Rain many times in the past 20+ years.
They now have rotating members. The best line up was in the late '80's / early '90's:
Joey Curatolo - Paul
Joe Bithorn - George
Jim Riddle (RIP) - John
Ralph Castelli - Ringo
Mark Lewis - keyboards (band founder in the '70's)

Steve Landes has done a great job as John since Jim Riddle died.

Seems nowadays, you never know who you will get at their shows, since there are several "subs" for the main members
