Raised-A polepiece Precision pickup -- when exactly?

Hey there -- so the common determination I've seen is that the raised-A polepiece pickup was used on Precision basses years 1957-1959.

Now does this mean it was used on basses made throughout those three years, or that they ceased using them at the start of production year 1959?

They didn't make production changes on January 1st. They would have used them until all they had in inventory were gone. So there would be an overlap depending on the stock at each work station.
