Rare Longhorn, owned and signed by Todd Rundgren

Todd Rundgren's rare Longhorn bass is being auctioned right now. It was played while recording his 1973 "A Wizard A True Star" album. Bass will come with a Todd signed COA!

Im no vintage bass expert but "longhorn" was a nickname wasn't it? I've only seen them say "Danelectro" on the headstock

That's explained on the auction site: this model was only made for export to the Netherlands.

Late 1960s Danelectro Longhorn bass was owned and used by Todd while recording "A Wizard A True Star", confirmed by bassist John Siegler who, at least, used it on "Is It My Name".

Jesse Gress researched and determined that this very rare bass was American-made specifically for distribution in the Netherlands, which is why "Longhorn" appears on the headstock, not the normal "Danelectro".

I have a 2017 Longhorn in copperburst. And it does live up to the awesome. I get more reactions to that bass than any of my other 19 basses on live gigs.
