Rattling tuner...........

It depends on what is rattling.

I am not being a smartass, but you need to sus out what is causing the rattle. On my first Geddy clone I assembled, I installed a set of well used MIM Fender tuners. (wanted the mojo :p )

One of the cloverleafs was loose in the shaft and would rattle with certain frequencies/notes. So I used a wee bit of superglue and that shut tit right up!

I can always replace one tuner if it loosens up again...they are not that expensive.

On your bass make extra sure all the screws are snug, at least those that are supposed to be tightened down. You would be amazed what can make noise up there!

You can easily rebuild the tuner as well, either bending the tension spring towards the worm gear or flipping it and the black plastic piece both upside down and putting it back together.

And if it's Gotoh style tuners, just tighten the top screw until the tuner is tight, but not too tight.
