RE-reissued Danelectro Longhorn Bass

I have one of these. Fatdawg at Subway Guitars made me a bass out of one about 2 years ago. He used a Dano reissue neck and some cheapo hardware except for the tuners, but overall it's a nice sounding little bass. I use it almost all the time on one honky tonk country gig I do.

The Ox really loved these bass in his early days . He recorded a few versions of "My Generation " with these but kept breaking the strings and they didnt make replacements for them so he kept buying more Longhorns . Finally after using abotu 3 Dano's he took them and another bass and traded them in for a FEnder JAzz and used it to record the final version.

With flats no less! I've heard some of the early Dano takes of MG, the solos are much wilder than the final recording.

That's just too cool!!!! How are Fat Dog's basses. I've heard mixed reviews. I spoke to him once about a guitar project, and he was...well.... Let's just say a little odd. I love the idea of what he does. Is the quality of his work fairly good?
