I recently joined this forum. I've added bass to instruments I'm trying to learn to play. I have a MIM P bass. I'll probably just play at home, but who knows, maybe some day.....
I bought a C-Tech SB1 little headphone amp yesterday. It is small, plugs right into the bass and has a variety of sounds, more than enough volume, a line out even. This way the family won't have to suffer during my early playing. I have to get a real amp. When auditioning a amp I usually have a couple of problems. Since I am new to the instrument I don't play much or well, so I can't really give it a good try. A little bit of "performance anxiety" occurs as well and I can't remember the little I do know.
In looking on line, I'm considering a few amps and would greatly appreciate everybody's feedback on them or other suggestions.
One is the Ampeg BA 115. It seems about the minimum of what would be decent.
#2 The Roland Cube 100. I have some Roland V-Drums and like Roland gear. But I have found that not every product a company makes is always good.
#3 The Tech 21 Landmark 60. It's American made which is a plus but I haven't been able to find much about it. There aren't any around here to try.
I'm keeping my eyes open for something used too.
