Double Bass Realist pickup sliding

I just got my bass back from a new setup and now I have a bridge that fits better on the top of my bass. However when I put my realist on, the bridge slides. I look at my bridge on the break and I notice the bridge slid over a little because of the realist. How do I stop this from happening? Is it time to switch to the FC? I played a bass that had one on it last night and thought it sounded great, but I never liked how they sound going direct. There has to be an easier solution.

Yup.
1) Be SURE of the fit of that bridge foot. The pickup can change the fit because it raises the foot slightly. If there is any play in your adjusters so they wobble, that can compensate.
When I fit my latest Realist recently I applied lipstick to the top to show where the foot was contacting. I then shaved off a little here and there to give a much better fit. Since you just had it worked on, it is probably fine, but double check.
2) The Realist instructions advise a coating of rosin on the bottom of the pickup to eliminate sliding. Dunno bout that.

FC? Will prolly go louder with more clarity, but at the expense of a natural woody tone. With my Realist fitting so well I can go pretty darn loud so I won't be going back to the FC. YMMV.

thanks man. Good advice. Dont knwo what to do though besides driving two hours to my luthier . I dont trust me with lip stick and sand paper...lol

Some powdered rosin will solve the problem. My luthier did this for me and no more sliding.
