I tried Mark on the contact form a week or so ago but didn't hear back as yet if he's on here I could try message him I guessMsg Gollihur, They have these in stock.
I am sure the voltage and current will be written on the wall adapter.
It’s just guessing, but if there isn’t a voltage regulator in the device itself, the maximum voltage for the power supply is 5 volts, so probably any simple (but low voltage deviation) USB charger with an adapter cable should work.
Maybe a current limiting resistor is needed, but that might handle the USB adapter itself.
The reason for the voltage limitation is the super capacitor (GoldCap) that has an extremely high capacitance but is limited to 5.1 volts, over and you kill it. The limitation is to keep the size low enough and 5 volts seems the common use case for it.
I don’t see a reason for the TRS, a TS should do. But a photo of an original power supply might show the plug connections too.
Let’s wait for a photo…
Thanks! I'm actually in the UK so it's tricky to call. David Gage didn't answer me but sweetwater asked on my behalf and the response was no is about all I know! I have been trying to solve the issue for weeks!Mark usually picks up the phone if you call.
Out of curiosity, why wouldn't Gage sell you a replacement part?
Thanks but maybe I had the wrong email or something! Maybe they aren’t sure whether they will continue the product! I think they definitely should though it’s great to buffer at source and really helps with potential interference/noise and tone preserving!Shame on DG for not offering better service. For the prices they charge, good long term support should be expected.
Thanks I will try find a way to reach them!Maybe reach out to Mi-Si. DG doesn't seem to publish it, but it seems like the same technology that Mi-Si developed and uses for their own preamps. I have a couple of acoustic guitars with Mi-Si systems that use the exact same AC plug thing. If worse comes to worse, I believe you can actually power the thing with a TRS plug and a 9 volt battery. I think Mi-Si has a video about it.
I just noticed that Elderly Mi-Si Power ChargerThanks I will try find a way to reach them!
Thanks so much! I'm also looking for the video incase you have a link to it with the 9v trick you mentionedI just noticed that Elderly Mi-Si Power Charger
and Thomann MI-SI Power Charger
both sell just the power charger as well.
That might at least give you the specs you need or you could google around and find other places you could pick one up at.
I just realized maybe it wasn't a video, but actually in the manual. Thanks so much! I'm also looking for the video incase you have a link to it with the 9v trick you mentioned
It is the same charger yes they literally have MI-SI written on the NS charger. The DG ones I think were made elsewhere but things seem to suggest they might be the same type of charger using the same specs! The NS NXT-A has the same technology. Maybe they use the same charger too?
