Really Bizarre Cover Songs

Cake does this a lot, probably the best example for me is their War Pigs cover:

This pair probably applies too (?):

This one is pretty great IMO, but goes pretty far afield to the point where I dunno if it's completely a cover or just "inspired by" any more:

Kind of going the opposite direction of taking a sorta bizarre original & making it more traditional (but pretty good & more listenable) direction:

Apologies if I got any dupes of already mentioned ones in there.

I wouldn't say this is bizarre, but it's certainly different:

I don't have any recordings handy, but circa 1978 my high school band used to cover the theme song from "The Flintstones" but done as smarmy/schmaltzy lounge-jazz treacle with a new set of lyrics I wrote describing Fred as a functional alcoholic who beat his kids & dog.

Flintstones, you say?

My dad had this album on cassette back in the day, I had never heard of the whole New Orleans brass band scene, I thought they were just a bunch of crazy dudes who did TV themes. I’m from Yorkshire where brass bands are very different.
