Just thought I would throw this out there. I like seeing really dirty, kind of gross basses. Lots of grime, rust, abuse etc...(...)
"loved" and "neglected" to me are mutually exclusive.Fair point. However this thread would welcome any bass that is GROSS. I think that is the keyword for me. I am as happy to see dirt and rust as I am even hard earned wear.
There must be some really neglected basses out there. My pink Fender definitely sat in someone's damp closet for a while... you should see the bow in the neck. I will take a picture tonight and post it. It is a truly loved and then neglected bass.
My '79.. 2nd owner, I bought/borrowed it from my buddy really as a loan so he could pay his rent. He never asked for it back. That was in '89. 2nd BAII bridge, first one rusted up and I had to replace. Original PU guard as you can see was white. Got the urge to go black way back, then really liked the look as it started peeling. I haven't played this bass out in a decade, think I will change that very soon.
