Really impressed by the Aguilar GS212

So Ive had my Aguilar GS212 for a week now, and got to use it live this weekend.

I spent about 5 hours this week practicing with the cab before using it to gig this weekend. I am running it with a Little Mark II and have run a number of basses through the Little Mark II/GS212 rig. That would include 3 MusicMan StingRay 5s ( a single H, a H/SC, and a Dual H), a MusicMan Sterling and a Reverend Rumblefish 5L.

The GS212 is heavier than many of todays NEO offerings, but the tone is remarkable. The low end is very powerful (sounds like a good PA cab in the lows, if that makes sense). Its rich and full. The mids are punchy, which surprised me. I have heard and read here at TB comments about the GS 12s being scooped. Well, the GS212 with the Little Mark II gives me all the mids I could ever use. The high end is smooth, and I have the tweeter about halfway up. I do not usually use tweeters on cabs. This cab has turned out to be one of my favorites that Ive used.

Just wanted to share my input on this cab, because it is really impressing me. I just downsized from an all tube Ampeg rig, and thought Id be losing out tonally, but so far, I feel like my tone is better than ever.

Ive posted this pic, but will do it again:

I share your joy, mate. I own and use several great cabs, but if forced to choose just one it would most likely be my GS 212. It's hard to put the reasons into words, but it is what it is. :)

I've not tried the GS212, but own a GS112 & a GS115 Both of which IMO are GREAT cabs! A great line the GS Aggies!!! The GS115 is a big & round, fat 15" sound!!! I use my 2 GS's with a LMII also! GREAT combo!!!!

I was looking to pick up a GS115 to use with one of my GS112s and was really looking for some input from someone who has done that. I am running 2 GS112s now but was hoping to improve on that. What do you think? Thanks, Rob.
Using a Trace Elliot 300 watt AH300.
