receiving feedback if i deleted the original thread

can i still submit and receive feedback if I deleted the original thread?

I sold a set of strings and didn't realize I needed to keep the original thread URL

The feedback system is now linked to a specific deal thread to safeguard the system from false feedback, which was really becoming a problem. If you only soft deleted the thread, ask a mod to reopen and lock it for you so you can exchange feedback and plug in the correct URL into the required field.

...bought an item from a guy that was casually mentioned in a for sale thread as a possible item to be thrown in. This was done via PM. Obviously, there is no thread for this specific item, but I'd like to leave him feedback. How would you guys prefer this to be handled?

If the item was mentioned in a thread, I would link to that thread and see if it takes. If it does, then problem solved.

Not at this time, because the feedback URL is a required feature to counter the trend toward "false feedback" that was becoming a problem. My feeling would be that if you want to leave feedback for that kind of transaction, you should start a thread and close it quickly so there'll be a record of the transaction to reference.

Thanks. I had considered that option, but didn't want to circumvent the rules.
