This article has some nice video and pics of Carol. She is living a nice quiet life in a retirement community. She doesn’t play bass anymore due to physical limitations.

She has been a great inspiration to so many, including myself.

Ms Kaye earned her stripes. She can think or say any dang thing she likes.
All I know is that when my wife and I met her at NAMM in 94, she treated me like a long lost nephew and graciously answered all my questions while I genuflected.
The hall of fame needs her way more than she needs them.

Will always have a soft spot for her since I started playing bass in the 60s using "The Carol Kaye Method" book. It seems she'd rather see more credit given to "the clique" than "the wrecking crew" but either way she was great. Absolutely love this and it spells it all out.

She has more than earned every right to say whatever's on her mind, and ever since I found out who was under 'Good Vibrations' (STILL the best 4-minute lesson in electric bass) as a tennager, I have been, and will always be a great admirer of her deep talents and determination.

LOVE Carol!! Even with her curt interview style, she still has GREAT stories to tell, and her musicianship is undeniable!

Read through her entire series (well up to #8 - don't know if there were more) back in the '70s.

She's mentioned not going to the ceremony (very vociferously) on her FB page. One thing the article doesn't cover that she has is the HOF requiring honorees and their guests to cough up thousands of dollars for a table at the event. She won't stand for it, and I have to agree. An honoree should be given a free table at the very least.

I'm no expert, but what I've found is that the inductee and a +1 are "free" but extra tickets (and thus likely whole tables) are a chunk more. And it makes sense if you've been to any ceremony where people bring armies full of attendees, places get overloaded, etc. 10k an extra seat's gonna keep it tight lol. Good on her for standing up for her fellow musicians, but I still think it's a bit curmudgeonly to hate the "Wrecking Crew" nickname. That moniker DOES recognize the whole group as a team, the very thing she wants. But to her credit -- she don't give a damn lol!
