Recommend a good bass for PJ passive pickups?

Hey TB. I got a set of Lollar PJ pickups (passive) for graduation (my dad works for the company). Problem is, I don't have a bass with this pickup configuration.

So I come to you. Recommend me a good bass in the 0-$500 price range to put these in. I've already played around with a GSR200 in the local music shop, wasn't impressed with the feel of it.

Would a Fender Aerodyne Jazz be in this price range in the US? Probably would second hand.
