Used Fender Precision Lyte. P/J configuration, keeps you with Fender, and I'm sure they are all in the 7 lb range, it wouldn't surprise me if some are even in the 6s. The only problem could be the price...you may have to be patient to find one for $300. $400 is more realistic.
Agree. My P Lyte Deluxe is 7.5 pounds and sounds great. Active only though. Not for sale!![]()

Actually that was a bloody stupid suggestion!For classic p and J tones with silly light weight Mike Lull is worth a look, maybe a little over budget but used and road worn .... Maybe?

Don't know about the Ibanez, but Squiers can be extremely hefty. I'd guess the average is 9.5 pounds, with some closer to 10..
