I can second this.the Dr hi beams have a noticeable dip in the mids. Quite a bit based on the analyzer readings I was getting.
I like them. Good solid lows , nice highs but some of the ugly mids are tamed without losing a bunch of power. They sound excellent. Best acoustic sound my bass has ever had.
Amplified through my current rig, the low mids are a little blurry and over pronounced, but that's my rig, not the strings. A little eq cut somewhere around 200 to 300hz fixes them right up for me. (I need a better rig). If I can get my rig to sound like the bass does unplugged, it will be perfect.
