Recommend me some flats!

So, I'm thinking of converting to flats after reading the "confessions of a flatwound convert" thread.

But, at the moment, I dont really know which strings to look at, I know there are a lot of different types of flats. The tone I think I'm looking for is well round with a strong low end.

Any ideas?

Scott.

it's any kind of flats with maybe a bit of highs rolled off.
I'd recommend you to start from brighter flats like Chromes, EB flats or Rotosound.
Keep in mind that it may take some time for them to acquire THAT roundness.
Keep your amp EQ as flat as possible (maybe with some highs roll off again).
Have your bass re-set up for lower action, as flats usually tend to be stiffer.
Then try to experiment with your plucking hand technique (you may try more an aggressive style. Pucking at the fretboard may also do the job)

There's a place for experiments though.
