Recommend me some rock power trios

I would think that listening to any bassist that can lay it down in a three piece cam help you improve, Green Day and Blink 182 included...

What exactly are you looking for? Sounds that push you past where you are right now, something to make you rethink the way you structure your part/role in playing as a three piece unit? Try some Husker Du, or Motorhead, or Jane's Addiction if you're looking for ideas geared towards a heavier, bass holding the ground and leading the way edge.

I'm going to have to agree, Mark Hoppus may not be the most technical bassist but it did his part well, and back about 10 years ago I was really into the punk scene and thought that Mike Dirnt (pre American Idiot) was pretty damn good, I also played with a pick back then though, haven't used a pick since probably 2007
