Recommend me some rock power trios

On the albums where they had three people, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists would fit the bill as a great power pop trio. I think that includes the excellent Shake the Sheets, with solid bass playing throughout.

I've been a big fan of Tosin since the Reflux days. I'll never forget watching them just destroy an audience of...20 people at the old Knitting Factory Hollywood at like 1 am on a Thursday.

Both Reflux and Aal are criminally underrated.

A friend just recently turned me on to Dirty Loops. Astonishingly good musicianship, and they rock hard...but they also jazz the hell out of the place. "Power" indeed.

This is who I thought of when I read the OP's title. Huge, huge sound. Very unique. Love that band. The addition of Brian Cook on bass was awesome, but Colin DeKuiper was great too.
