Recommend some "fridge" width cabs

I'm pretty sure my old '80s peavey 2x15 was over 24" wide - IIRC, I had a 20 gallon high tank on it for a year or so, and those are 24" wide!. (not very rock & roll now is it? but I wasn't using it at the time).

More power to you If you want to use those monsters. I'm a utilitarian station wagon kinda guy, but at some point (I think it was when I needed a car and bought an 89 sentra) I decided that I wasn't going to base my automobile purchases on the size of my amp ever again! That said, there is something cool about a cabinet the size of a yugo. :smug:

Incidentally, the fEARful 1515/66 is 24" wide, and won't look too pasty-faced with a 26"-wide head overlapping an inch on each side since the cab is fairly large at 48" tall... And once you re-arrange some innards with it onlookers won't be noticing much anyway.

What were you guys playin' back then anyway?

As good as I can do in 2 minutes with so little resolution:

As I recall, that photo was taken at a soundcheck for an outdoor rock gig. I was still in my teens. We played original rock influenced by Thin Lizzy, UFO, Montrose, etc. I think we opened for Y&T on this gig (although they were still calling themselves "Yesterday and Today" back then.) For those of you too young to remember, Y&T were (and still are) a GREAT live rock band! Go to ITunes and download "Mean Streak" or "Forever.". Great stuff.
