Recommendation for Fender CB-60SCE

Just bought the above not too keen on the supplied strings, bit rough, any suggestions. Only used for home practice and learning new songs

I'll advocate briefly for the garbage phosphor bronze strings it probably comes with. Learning to play them quietly is worth trying. I developed pretty clean fretting technique from starting on a cheap acoustic with noisy strings.

But if you do wanna change them, you can use anything. You don't have to get acoustic specific strings. Any rounds, flats or tapes will do. That's 32" scale right? I'm pretty sure you'll need long scale strings to accommodate for the bridge pins.

Thanks for your reply, yeah they are very noisy finger wise. It is 32 inch scale, I'm using short scale electric basses now and have a new set of D'addario XL170 s left over from 34 inch scale playing days I could put them on. You are right about fretting technique.

If you like the traditional acoustic sound (unplugged) of bronze strings but not the finger noise or the rough feel, you can try the GHS Pressurewound Bronze.

I use any strings that I would use on my electric bass. My acoustic is currently strung with Black Beauties.
