recommendation

I like to play a lot of heavy Sabbath type of stuff and looking for a trust worthy wah pedal to add to the arsenal. Maybe something that's not going to kill my pocket. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I recommend getting a ping pong table.

Ping Pong is ace.

Since you love Ping Pong,...I actually recommend adding a fuzz to your arsenal. Anything of the UberMuff variety will do (Supercollider, Fuzzrocious Grey Stache,....Blackout Effectors Musket).

If the UberMuffs are too cost prohibitive,...look into an old Sovtek Green Big Muff Pi

Well, Geezer Butler used an old Tycobrahe wah (god help me I can't remember the name), and Chicago Iron makes a reproduction of it, but its hella expensive. Wilson Effects makes a wah that will get close to that phaser like wah sound that sound balls awesome (I mean like brand new shiny white balls of the pinging and ponging variety) for Black Sabbath type tones.

Nope the Answer is always More Fuzz.

I've got a couple of fuzz pedals I use , my fav right now is the zvex fuzz factory. I can get some wicked fuzz out of it, I was lookin at a old vox wah pedal...just wondering if anybody has played bass through one?

The only one I can speak of that I have played through is the dunlop crybaby (it lost at ping pong), and its waaaaay to funky to be used for sabbathy stuff. An old vox wah may cut it (definitely not a good ping pong paddle though), but you may loose a lot of low end too. Can you try it out at all? Maybe play some ping pong too?

Yeah unfortunately a lot of wahs sound really whimpy when it comes to bass, specifically rock/metal bass. You want something that shoots out of the ground and grabs everything and throttles everything. A morley wha would prolly work as well.

I'm going to just reopen this thread for the last time because I've been kicking so much ass at ping pong I just had to let you guys know!! My whole idea was finding a wah pedal that I can get some low end too and honestly I wanted to use it when I jam some NIB on my axe. Well I scored a dunlop bass wah for 60 on Craigslist and the guy just happened to have it set up for me with a little fuzz added and down tuned to get that perfect heavy doom sound. Well ill just say that it was the best 60 bones I've ever spent. Thanks for all the help fellow bass players.
