Recommendations for a effect noob

Hey Everyone. I need recommendations for a few good pedals.

Overdrive: Something heavy and not subtle.
Chorus: Defiantly Watery Analog
Auto Wah: Something like fleas playing on "Falling into Grace"
Tuner: Small footprint, bright lights

Im a 16 year old working for minimum wage so i need fairly inexpensive probably 100$ or less.

I play Rock, Metal, and play modern christian rock.

+1 on the Korg. Loving my tuner so much right now...

You can score a RAT (DO NOT GET A RAT II IMO!) for around $100 or under on ebay. Look for a vintage reissue.

Have you thought about a muff or fuzz...or do you only want an overdrive?

Overdrive and Chorus I'm not sure based on your descriptions.

When you say "something heavy and not subtle" are you sure you want overdrive and not distortion or fuzz? Normally on a budget I'd recommend the Digitech Bad Monkey or DOD 250 but they're both fairly transparent as dirt pedals go. Maybe a Polish Love OD? Or if you really do want a distortion, the Tech 21 XXLB is about as heavy and non-subtle as it gets and not too expensive. On the really cheap side, the Danelectro Fab Distortion is all kinds of nasty for only $15.

A true analog chorus is not easy, especially on a budget. Maybe the Danelectro Cool Cat would work for you.

Auto Wah: Flea used a combination of pedals on Falling Into Grace, but the one I hear most prominently is the MXR Auto Q.

Tuner: Korg Pitchblack may be your best bet. Not to try and solicit sales, but I'm also getting ready to unload my Planet Waves Tuner (which is very visible onstage) if you're interested.

The El Grande gets good reviews, also look at the new EHX Bass Big Muff which has answered the prayers of a lot of players who've previously been paying a fortune to boutique pedal builders.

As for a chorus... I don't really like chorus, the last one I had was a Boss CEB-3 and it sounded very cold. Based on your description I'd try a Small Clone first. There are lots of them around, you should be able to find one cheap on the used market.

check out the planet waves tuner. that's what i got, and it's been beat to h*ll and back, dropped off of a 20 set of steps and knocked off stage. i've had people walk on it. still works great... although the battery door dosn't latch anymore.

check out the electro-harmonix bass big muff. they're pretty awsome, i think. chorus, i love my boss ceb-3, but watery analog? i dunno about that... i was never really a fan of auto wahs, i like regular wahs though, and in that regard you can't beat a crybaby bass wah. i tried one of those out once, blew my mind. i mean, literally turned my brain to liquid and it poured out of my ears... probably why i mis-spell stuff so much!:smug:
