Recommendations for a method book?

I just bought my 12 y. o. daughter a short scale bass. She has been playing guitar for a few years now and wants to learn bass. I formally studied upright and am looking through some of my old method books, but I don't think any are the best choice. Ideas? I particularly want something which starts out in the middle positions because of her hand size.

I'm a medium-scale small hands guy, and I would recommend the Ed Friedland/Hal Leonard Bass Method book. It starts out using the First-Second-Fourth finger technique, which was much easier for me than the One Finger Per Fret four finger technique. It eventually moves into OFPF, though.
