recommendations for a pedal board

Hey all, thought I'd throw a follow up just because it's been awhile. I ended up splitting the difference-i bought an aluminum pedal case from amazon with so-so reviews. I cut a piece of plywood to fit the inside of the case and keep my pedals even with the edges and then covered the whole deal with velcro. It works great, the plywood gives the case some support and the velcro is industrial so nothing moves, slips or wiggles

I decided I couldn't justify the cost of the pedal train, would rather buy a pedal . I ended up digging out some MDF and spray paint from the garage and building my own. So SKB and Pedal train don't need to fear any new competition but it turned out OK, very sturdy.

The top shelf is sized for nano pedals, for my bass and the lower shelf for standard size pedals for my guitar. The blue LEDs are to match by H&K guitar amp . think I spent about $15 in the end for the Dual Lock tape and LEDs.

Hopefully it'll be ok....but

Screws tend to not stay in MDF Very well.
Keep an eye on that (guess how I found out).

In my experience doing DIY boards, find the CASE first (that can hold the pedals you want to use) and then build the board to size.
Old suitcases can work great for this for instance.

I'm looking for something small enough to not get in the way that I can put on my board.
