Ok, for the actual records,do 12" 45's need the same thing as a 7" 45s?

all you would do is to change the speed..
Sometimes you will see a 7"45 with a small hole but not the other way around.

I even have a working record player that my great uncle gave me (b/c my old one I had in high school got left at my ex husbands)...it has the speeds: 16, 45, 33 and 75!!

Must be fun to play 78's at 75!

While a typo, you're actually not wrong. "78 rpm" records were produced in a wide range of speeds... some oddballs were in the 60 rpm range - 90+ rpm.
