Recording Better Bass

Hi All,

I am would like to get some advice on recording better bass. I am talking about a number of bass instruments but particularly the most used instruments for bass in modern music:

• Electric Bass Guitar (DI + Amp)
• Synth Bass
• Upright Acoustic Bass
• Acoustic Electric Bass

I know these are a few instruments and it may be easier on you to generalize however, if you have the wherewithal to answer all of them it would be greatly appreciated.

Well I am not technically expert on recording but my experiences taught me that the most important thing is magnetic fields in the room. Power cables and other cables must be separeted. Also CRT screens cause some noise in the record. It is best to adjust the distance between the instrument and CRT. Other than that to I get better results in clean recording. When the audio recorded cleanly a better result can be achieved by eqing and adding some plug-ins if needed.
