Recording Direct Out with No Speaker Load

This may be a simple question, but I keep getting conflicting info from the Internet. I have been recording from the direct out jack on a GK 400RB without any speakers connected, and just monitoring through headphones. The sound is exactly what I want, but am I possibly damaging the amp with no speaker load?

This may be the wrong thread but are you recording from, say, a 1/8" headphone output into a computer 1/8" mic line input?

I was wondering if this was a "safe" and clean way to record or if I need to DI the signal first...

If you're recording from a headphone output, your safe to connect it to a line input (not a mic input, it'll be overpowered). A D.I. is normally used to convert an unbalanced signal to balanced for transport over long cables. No need in this case.
