Recording interface help

Greetings everyone!

I was wondering if anyone could give me some recommendations regarding a recording interface. I have a budget of about $200. I would be willing to go a little higher but would prefer to keep it under.

I am also new to using interfaces, so something n00b friendly would be preferred. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks and best wishes!

Not sure where you live, but in the US, it's Sunday afternoon.
There are times of the week when you might get 30-minute response time, but even so, it's a bit unrealistic...

Recording interface questions just like yours come up a lot - a search will turn up lots of suggestions.

I use FocusRite Scarlett 2i2 - by itself, it's about $150.
PreSonus also gets a lot of love here.

Interface _to what_? USB? FireWire? Something else? I don't care, but you must know...

Hi man, I have not buy it yet, but you might want to take a look at the boss gt001, is a new product but quite an affordable one plus has mic input too which meant you can use your di out to the recording interface. There is amp modeling and free fx pack too looks to be a great all around solution produxt

You would get better recommendations, if you described your setup a little, and what kind of use for the interface.

For a n00b who just wants to record bass, as I imagine one, I would recommend Zoom B3, which has USB interface. Plus you get to play with the effects and a DI out! I'm sure many other multieffect boxes have usb audio interface these days.

I have the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 and can also recommend it. It works well for me. Plenty of other good interfaces out there too. Read reviews on some of the major equipment sale sites (GC, Musicians Friend, Sweetwater, etc.) to find out specifics that might apply to your situation (whatever that may be). Be sure to read the positive *and* the negative reviews.

I can also vouch for the 2i4. Depending what exactly you want to record with it, the 2i2 might be sufficient. I also have an MAudio something or other that was in the 100-150 range that I recorded an ep on (it was hip hop, so mostly vocals, some guitar and bass). After about 2 years it started malfunctioning slightly, but that was likely do to the fact that I traveled with it in my laptop bag 2-3 times a week.
