Recording multiple inputs

Sorry if this has been asked before but a quick search of the forums didnt throw anything up.

I want to be able to talk through what I am playing on the bass, meaning I need to record a mic and my bass at the same time. From what I understand this means I need a pre-amp with multiple inputs, could someone clarify this for me and maybe suggest a suitable device.

Bear in mind this is all just for fun on YouTube and is just being recorded on my laptop, so a studio quality solution isn't really what I'm looking for, nor, I suspect, is it what I can afford!

A simple mixer will work, two inputs, and a mono output into your computer.
