Recording Question with SVT classic

I was wondering if it is possible to use an SVT classic' preamp out into a a Korg 32 track, w/o the cabinet. I usually just DI into the 32 track but I'd like to use the ampeg head if I can.

I don't feel like going to get my speaker cabinet if I don't need it.

Basically my question is can I use the head without the cabinet? but it's also a recording question so I didn't know where to put this thread.

It's only possible if you have a 4-ohm dummy load to use in the speaker's place. Otherwise, if you run a tube amp without speakers, its output transformer sees infinite ohms and goes crazy and causes a catastrophic failure if you let it go too long.

Bring the cab and throw a mic in front of it. You'll be glad you did.
