Recording solo bass

when it comes to recording and recording equipment is am pretty much useless, but it looks like you guys could redeem even me.

what i am looking to do is record some solo bass tracks (with looping). im not looking for any extravagant or expensive, just something that can get the job done rather well.

can anyone help me on how i should go about this and what equipment should i use?

thanks

If you're looking to do bass looping, all you would need is an audio interface as long as you get one that comes with decent software. I don't know what your price range is but you can check out some of the m-audio stuff, I know they're decent for the price. Also +1 to presonus. A few cables and you'll be ready to go.
