Hello!!! I have an HH Electronics VS BassAmp (100W-4ohm, it certainly sounds like more) head that was my main bass gear for more than a decade. Back in the day when I found it in a pawn shop, I had no much money so I decided to craft my own cab. With null knowings of acoustic and very few in electronics, I designed the cab a little too narrow, and to make it worse I just put a 18" into it.
The thing, despite heavy vibration, somehow worked well until a few years ago, when I had to leave it in some garage because I moved to another town and I could not take it with me, just the HH head. So for the past few years, the cab must've been played by anyone who came to rehearse there... and used live by who knows, much to my chagrin
For some odd reason, I happily managed to get it back with me a month ago, in the place I live now. But... it was ruined. Tolex, grill, screws, and a heavy buzz that comes from the (I presume) broken speaker. Everything should be removed.
So here it comes... after thinking about selling the head, buying a combo and throwing out the cab, I realized I'd feel sorry for it sooner than later. I spent too much time in that cab. So I'd like to know what could be the best way to recover it, specially when it comes about speakers: 2x15"? 4x10"?
Or is it in fact too narrow (about 34cm or so) and I'd be losing my time anyway?
