I thought a Red Panda thread would be welcomed for us fans that would like to discuss all things Red Panda Pedals. Post your findings, pedal pictures, settings, pros/cons, so on and so forth. Well designed, well built pedals. Definitely worth a look if your looking for some spice to add to your pedal board.

Red Panda

I recently picked up a Red Panda Particle and thoroughly enjoy the uniqueness of the pedal. It can be subtle as well, but whats the fun in that ;) The only thing I would like for Red Panda to do is add soft switching to their foot switches.

I think the Bit Map is next on my to get list.

I should put the Particle in my Wonderlove FX loop, wil try that experiment soon.

no, get the Raster and the Maleko Scrutator as your bit cruncher. and resign from life while you are mastering it all.
Putting a Particle in the loop of a Superego would be all consuming too. Superego is the same size as your other pedals...

The Scrutator does ineed look cool and is on my list, but why not the Bit Map? Whats the Scrutator got over it?

I just made an reasonable offer on the Red Panda Bit Map to a seller on Reverb. EXCITE!

I like that it has top jacks, power, and expression input.
Anyone have one or had one and can pass along some information on it?

Edit: Offer denied :(

I think it does pretty much the same for less money and slightly smaller footprint and I love the filter and preamp of the Scrutator, makes it stand out. I also don't know the RedPanda one... still learning Particle after 2 months... I got a Charlie Foxtrot and a Scruator at prymax's Christmas sale and they are quicker to put to use than Red Panda.

That has to be one of the sickest mini boards around.

The filter and preamp on the Scrutator are big pluses, only if it had the top jacks/power/exp input. That is a huge draw for me on the Bit Map.

IM expecting to not fully get the Particle for many months. Took me quite awhile to fully understand everything that the BitQuest was. I have found usable sounds with the Particle, with the reverse and pitch delays... The Particle loves fuzz and I really am liking the Particle for that :D

Thanks:thumbsup:

I just miss having a phaser, and an OD , and a ... hahah

I have a Raster. I like to set the pitch switch to semitone, the delay switch to forward continuous repeats, tune the shift knob to a sweet spot CCW of noon, turn the delay to somewhere around 9 o clock, and turn the feedback knob really really high. That way my repeats go downward in semitones to make individual notes sound like a big machine winding down. Doesn't work unless you play very slowly and mute the sustain, though.

I also use the Raster somewhat like a chorus or flange effect, which isn't as cool, but WAY more useful in any practical situation. LOL

Wow that sounds seriously awesome.

I just switched the Prometheus to feed the Particle. Im liking that much better...slow step mode on the Prometheus into all the Particle fun (like lfo and reverse) is exactly where I need to be.
I gotta do clips soon. This thread needs some sound clips.

That sounds exactly like what the EQD Rainbow Machine does with the magic (delay) switch on, pitch near noon for small rising or dipping intervals. I just happened to get a Rainbow Machine before I noticed Red Panda and it's the Rainbow Machine that's in the loop of the Super Ego, it's the perfect effect for it, like an audio fountain. (also use a 5th up pitchshifter and the Way Huge ring modulator for metallic sounds) I'm mostly using the Particle on pitchshifting "dens" for a rotating speaker kind of effect and the reverse delay, it's one of the best of class for reverse delay.

Thats sounds awesome too! I agree about the reverse on the Particle, my favorite mode to stay in for hours and feed it all the effects I have haha

there is a demo on youtube of Henry Kaiser (an American National Treasure in post rock improvised music) demoing the Particle, and he mostly stays in the reverse delay...he's been using time effects since the stone age (when we might have been stoned) and the Particle is like a diary of his experiments over 40 years.
Hey! there's a new one!
