Red Tort Pick Guard; $80, really???

As the thread title says, I've been looking for a red tort PG for my Am Std P-Bass. It has 13 screw holes. Doesn't matter to me if it has the thumb rest and pick up cover screw holes or not. Everywhere I look they seem to be running around eighty bucks. Are they that expensive everywhere or is there somewhere I can find one for less cash?

I want a quality one, so if I have to pay that much I will. Just thought I'd ask ya'll before I pull the trigger.

Thanks

Not gonna rage quit. I just think the supporting members can be rather snotty and trollish at times. So I offer the following:

Oh Supporting Members, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to post in the wrong area and failing to observe the rules, I have sinned against you whom I should idolize above all things. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

:D

Apology accepted. Thank you for coming clean like that.
I'm still not gonna answer though. :D

No, but really. You gotta post in the right section. It's da rules. My prediction is that this thread will be moved in 3....2....1....

have you tried eBay? Craigslist etc etc

My bad! I guess I should have known that the supporting member posse would rather be smart arses than help a brother out.

So much for asking the community a honest question.

Now now, its naught to do with supporting members... you asked a bass related question in the Off Topic (unbass-related) forum.
I dont think any of us in here even play the bass. We're bass fisherman.

Nah, nonsupporting members can be just as crude.
I just happen to know nothing of pickguard costs, so Id really be of no help.

I tried ebay. I'll look again. I probably just looked in the wrong area.

Haha...get it? Looked in the wrong area!

These are the jokes, people.:D

I was going to say 'Welcome to Talkbass', but youve been here 4 years already.

Did you really have no idea what went down in Off Topic?

Id say your question is probably bestt suited to be answered by the guys who hang out in either 'Hardware & Setup' or 'Pickups'.
