I've found three vivid red woods so far, red heart, paduak, and bloodwood. And I want to know which is the strongest/most stable. And which retains its red best over time. Also general red bass thread. Pics very welcome.

Add coco bolo - my fave. It's related to bloodwood (both are rosewoods) and therefore, both will tend to deepen with age and exposure to light. Not familiar with red heart (related to purpleheart?). Interested in info from others on how padouk ages (seems I recall it deepens and browns too, but not sure).
