I bought this bass here on TB when I was spending a lot of time at my mother’s apartment in NY while she was ill. I needed to keep up my rather-weak chops, you know. Didn’t want to fly with my Fenders. So I’ll cut and paste original sellers full description. Just a tick over 8lbs, 1.75” nut, Fralin pickups. I prefer a trad Fender neck radius so this beauty and I are parting ways. No case. Shipping is split. Everything is negotiable. This is a very good but I would not call it a great bass.

For sale is a 2020 Ashdown Arc bass which is a Lakin designed Precision bass. Alder body with an olympic white finish and black pickguard. Maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and an oil/wax finish and Hipshot ultralight tuners. I bought this directly from Dan Lakin and it has some modifications done by Dan Strack the USA D.Lakin builder/tech. He stripped the matching headstock for me because I don't like matching headstocks on a precision. They did not have access to Ashdown logos so it has a D.Lakin logo. The back of the headstock still notes that it is an Ashdown bass. The string tree location was moved to a better spot and the stock tree was replaced with a USA Lakin string tree. The screw hole was professionally filled and is very well done but still can be seen close up. The stock tort guard was terrible so Dan Strack cut a new black guard for me. Dan Strack also completely went over the bass before sending it to me. I replaced the stock bridge with a USA Hipshot bridge that I got from Dan Lakin and is what he uses on his USA basses with the exception that his Hipshots are custom for string through body and this does not have that. A local tech replaced the pickup for me with a USA Fralin pickup. Honestly it was a lateral move because the stock pickup was great. I have the original bridge but do not have the original pickup or guard (you wouldn't want that anyway).

These are made in the Mirr factory in Korea which is where Reverend and Duesenbergs are built. The quality is top notch. Unlike the Skyline series this bass has identical specs to a USA Lakland including the neck finish and headstock and body thickness (Skylines have slightly thinner headstocks and slightly thicker bodies). It is as close to a USA Lakland as I have ever seen in an import line. I don't want to get rid of this but I made a purchase and something needs to move. If the guitars I had for sale would move I would 100% keep this because its amazing. But they aren't and since this is semi-redundant for me it has to go.

I’m really diggin’ this. Thinking it would be a good bar room bass, for those gigs that you’re squeezed in tight and you might get a bump or bruise. Places I don’t want to take a Fender CS or even my USA Lakland P. SPS…am I right? Would you agree? And the weight is really right around 8 pounds or 8 lbs 2 or 3 ozs?

Hey MM- 8 lbs, O oz. And you are correct- it sounds great, plays well and costs not so much. It can collect scars honestly and no tears. Oly white with dark rosewood is always killer. The board is just a bit too flat for me- I like 9.5 radius best

What a beautiful bass!
Good looks and incredible quality, this is beyond a great deal!
How is it possible that this is still available?
Even though I am in downsize mode, this is just so tempting!!

I reinstalled the original Wilkinson bridge. Great setup. This bass plays and sounds great. I’ll keep the Hipshot for a future project. Did I mention a Fralin pickup? Only $675 plus actual shipping. I can’t believe that this beauty is still here.
