Fender Custom Shop Active Jazz Bass Ash 5 String (Active Custom Classic JBV, Sunset Orange, 10913521-5, according to the hang tag) A few notes from Reno's Music (see attached PDF), the dealer who sold this very instrument new: Subtle refinements to Fender’s legendary Jazz Bass guitar make the Custom Active Jazz Bass a true player’s delight. This bass features a slightly slimmer waist contour, plus deeper cutaways for greater access to the upper registers of its 21-fret rosewood fingerboard. It is addorned with real white shell block inlays on an unbound neck. An elegant take on a classic Fender design. Features include a Lacquer Finish Ash body (sorted for light weight), a 60's Jazz Bass "U" shape neck, 2 Custom Noiseless Jazz Bass Pickups, Fender/Schaller Deluxe Lightweight Tuning Machines, a 3-Band Active EQ, and Strings-Through-Body or Top-Load with Fender's new High-Mass Bridge. The pictures do not do the color justice and it sounds great unplugged. My plan was for this to be my Forever Bass, dubbed Orange Crush. I do not need to sell it, but certain health issues have caused me to take a step back from playing and will now only be keeping my beloved '73 PJ. I will be using the proceeds to pursue other interests. I rarely gigged with it and only at church when I did. It has lived in a non-smoking home. I am the second owner, the first owner is respected Talkbass member JFN. I am including all of the paperwork and much of the case candy, as pictured. It is currently strung with an older set of DR Low-Riders, it could possibly use a set-up although the quarter-sawn neck is quite stable. Please note, the body has two chips in the finish where the neck meets the body, as indicated in one of the attached pictures. I am asking $1900 obo via PayPal or cash-in-hand, shipped CONUS only. I have a PDF from the original seller containing specs and pictures of the instrument when it was new. It is attached to this listing but I can email it on request.
Thank you, it is a gorgeous beast! It may be hard to read in the pic I posted, but the Custom Shop certificate indicates 10/18/10.
