Redundancy rant

People bother me by being redundant. How often do you hear someone mention that they need to go to the "ATM machine"? Isn't that saying, "I need to go to the Automatic Teller Machine Machine?" Or, "PIN Number". Personal Identification Number Number.What else really irks you about the way people talk? One more thing that really burns my b**t is a flame about 3 feet high.

I use to get worked up over "NIC card" (Network Interface Card Card)...

lately my Boss' Boss has one that I am embarrassed over. I work in the NOC... which is short for Network Operation Center. His email signature on his Crackberry is "Manager, NOC Operation"

So he Manages the Network Operation Center Operation....

And not a redundancy but still annoying:

I hate redundancy too. And when things are repeated, that gets on my nerves. People who say the same thing in different ways, that bugs me. Hearing a phrase over and over, pain in the arse.
