Refinish a Gibson ES-335 bass?

I typically use both...it’s a great sounding bass, in many ways like a Jack Casady, but louder believe it or not
It is your bass so do what you want.
Use it for firewood if you need to this winter. 
I'd keep it red or trade it for something Blue before changing it. 
Now if it were an Epiphone I wouldn't think twice about changing it 
, but it is a Gibson ES-335 Bass. 
It is worth something. It is collectible. They sell for much more than a Midtown.

Forgot to say I envy you for having both of these, especially since they have same length horns. I think there is a Midtown that has uneven horns?
There is a Midtown Signature with uneven horns...also has the fancy neck inlays vs. the dots of the Midtown Standard.
I'm not a fan of the uneven look of the mixed sized horns, though I get the reasoning behind it. To me, it just looks lopsided... (I'd love a Jack Casady with even sized horns! In Pelham Blue!)
That bass is truly awesome as is!!!

+1 clean and buff it up, a beauty under the Mojo. Always liked those basses.
