Refitting Westone Thunder I-A With New Pickups and Preamp

Im looking to replace the pickups and the preamp of my westone thunder i-a, seeing how they are the ones that came with it and it is about 23 years overdue.

I have no idea what parts to buy or which are the best. what i need is a set of p-bass pickups and a preamp that supports 3 pots.

the bass also has 2 2-way selector switches that i want to do something with.... any suggestions?

thanks,
paul

Hmmm.... That *might* be a jack socket problem. The battery connector is usually routed to a simple switch in the jack socket - if that's worn a bit (quite likely given its vintage), that could turn the pre-amp off & on very quickly giving a pop. Try wiggling the lead & see if that does it (amp on low volume, natch).

Could also be a dodgy 9v PP3 connector, same result.

Pete.
