refretting?

Hey all, I have a defretted Czech Spector bass that I bought a couple of years back that had a snapped truss rod in it. I learned how to remove the fingerboard and replace the trussrod...as I already have a fretless bass and would really like to use this bass as a fretted bass, I'm wondering if there is a tutorial on here somewhere that shows how to do refret this bass (or any bass for that matter). I looked and looked but if it's here, I can't find it.

I have virtually nothing into the bass so if I screw it up, I'm not out a ton of money...at the same time, if I can learn to do this, it would be way cool.

Actually there are a lot of defretting and refretting vids on Youtube. Those should get you started and give you some indication of what is involved.

This could start you in the right direction.... I pretty much do the same when I refret, or fret an instrument.

Jason, that is a great tutorial...I need to get a radiused sanding block after determining what the radius is supposed to be on this neck. I think it's a 16" radius if memory serves me right. I might have to drop a line to Spector. They were great about helping me out when I was getting ready to attempt the trussrod replacement.

Yes, I'm about 95.5% sure that it's a 16" radius (I own a Euro LX5). If not certain enough, email PJ Rubal @ Spector.

Can I use a drill press with a caul to press the frets in instead of an arbor press? The drill press I have, the arbor press I don't (although I've always wanted one...maybe now is the time)
