Regular Simple Green to clean a fretboard?

yikes!

just use guitar polish on finished maple boards, and #0000 steel wool on unfinished rosewood or ebony.

keep the household cleaners under the sink and away from your guitars.

I use lemon oil like for furniture on my rosewood boards. They don't soak up hardly anything, but I like to think it helps combat drying during the heating season here in Iowa. It also helps clean off finger gunk, and doesn't smell too bad.

Simple green will actually permanently discolor some aluminum alloys (don't ask me how I know).
It is a strong cleaner that should be used carefully and never on wood IMO.
