Rehearsal room combos

Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum and the bassworld.
I've been playing at home for 1,5 years and did my first rehearsals a month ago. Needless to say that my Fender Rumble LT25 wasn't up for the job of playing with a drummer.
Does anyone have any tips what kind of combo I should get to be heard in a rehearsal and on a small stage?

No one can answer your question well without knowing:
What kind of music?
How loud?
4 strings or 5?
Will this be the amplifier you intend to use into the future, indefinitely?

I might as well be buying an amp that can last a long time. I play a four string Squier Affinity. I intent to be an allround player so a versatile amp would be nice. I haven't decided to go for combos or head with cabinet yet.

500w and a 210. Fender Rumble 500, GK MB 210, or similar.

Doesn't have to be a combo, those are just the specs I'd shoot for. If it is a combo, I'd get something with extension cabinet out

I use a Fender Rumble 100 1x12 combo at my bands rehearsal space and it is *just* loud enough. Both guitarists use 15 watt tube combos and our drummer is afraid to hit hard. We play 90s rock covers mostly. I wouldn't use it for gigs though.

I'd say anything 200 watts or more would be fine. Especially if you run a DI.

In 50 years of playing, I've had exactly ONE brand-new bass amp, and MANY used ones. If an amp has had proper care, there is no reason not to buy used. Just make sure, when you are trying it, to turn all the knobs, to test all its features, and to play it loud enough to expose any problems.

I have also bought mostly used, and no issues. In particular I've had two second hand Rumble 100 amps, and both work great.

I've only ever bought used as well. Check for signs of damage and test it out first and you should be fine.

Fender Rumble 500 combo is a no brainer for your situation. I bought mine second hand and have had no problems. The older rumbles don't come close so I wouldn't waste time looking at those.

I had the old Rocket Bass 200. Great amp, wish I never sold it. Heavy as heck though.

I concur with Rumble 500 combo, v3. They are a quantum leap above the old Rumbles, and even better than the old Bassman combos. I wouldn't expect any trouble buying used if you found a deal.

My Markbass Minimark has been great for rehearsals and various gigs, too depending on the venue and FOH support.

If you're not looking for a very expensive rig, I'd recommend the Fender Rumble 500 combo with the matching 210 extension cab. You could use just the combo for rehearsals and small gigs, and the full stack for larger gigs.

One thing to look out for with the Rumble 500 v3 is scratchy pots. Mine had a scratchy main pot right out of the box, brand new.

Traynor offers great bang for the buck, tone for the Thaler, volume for the value, etc. Check out the Small Block series, like the SB112, which sounds great and is capable of real volume (not shouty loudness, but actual supportive volume; it also sounds rich and full at low volume).
