Remingtons new 1911R1

The Glock's double trigger is really awkward to me. I prefer a traditional safety.
I've never shot a revolver, my father got rid of his way before I was allowed to shoot something other than a bb gun or a .22.

I used to carry a Glock 17 until last year and never had any fear of it shooting me in the leg. The last person I saw shoot themselves was a total idiot. On another note that's a nice 1911.
I agree, If you shoot yourself holstering your weapon your breaking one of the first rules of gun safety. Never holster your weapon with your finger on the trigger or in the trigger guard, duh. The FBI has issued Glock 23's for years, and ran all kinds of safety test on them. They performed very well.
OTOH, I carry a 1911 in condition 1 and much prefer the way I shoot a 1911.

But I do love my Colt Gold Cup and Springfield Armory Mil-Spec.

The US has an undying love affair with the Colt 1911 pattern in 45 ACP. The makers see this and they all want a piece of the market. Sig, Taurus and heck even Smith and Wesson (Colt's traditional rival) makes one. Not much to complain about the old warhorse either. It is easy to shoot fast, punches a BIG hole and packs just enough wallop to make it ideal for social uses.
Every person I've ever treated who accidently shot themselves was an idiot. It's kind of a requirement for having shot themselves.
I'm really liking that phrase.
Just go to your local PD, fill out the paperwork, go and get fingerprinted, wait a month or so, receive the pistol permit and ID card, and then find a shop with a decent price who also has 1911s in stock. Purchase said gun, and pay for the additional on-the-spot background check. Take said gun home and post pics on TB.
That sounds like an easy process to me!
